Tuesday, May 21, 1:00pm - 2:00pm (EDT)
In PwC’s recent CEO survey, 62% said one or more of their board directors should be replaced, and 49% of executives think directors show up to meetings unprepared. How would your CEO answer those questions?
And, in PwC’s annual corporate director survey, 45% of directors said they want someone on their board replaced. What do your fellow board members say about you when you leave the room?
Moreover, if your shareholders were listening in on your board meetings, how would they grade your board?
Before any board can achieve great governance, it first has to have great dynamics – within the board and between the board and CEO. But common obstacles often get in the way --- personal egos, derailed discussions, dismissed opinions, individual biases, dominating personalities.
Join CBM Network on May 21, 1:00 – 2:00 pm ET, for an interactive discussion with your director peers led by seasoned CEO and board member, Bart Shuldman, to share experiences and solutions for creating alignment within your board and with your CEO.
Bart will help you work through critical questions, such as: How do you create a high-functioning board made up of directors who know how to have respectful disagreements, are able to read a room, can constructively challenge the CEO in a way that grows the business, and support candid conversations that enhance the board’s, management’s and the company’s performance?
As part of our discussion, we’ll explore a few different scenarios that can be significantly impacted (for better or worse) by board dynamics, including:
> Onboarding of new directors
> Addressing underperforming directors
> Dealing with a new, incoming CEO
Additionally, you’ll learn how DISC assessments and EQ analysis tools can help you navigate team dynamics, identify potential challenges based on different personalities, and build a more collegial, functional board.
