Marie Oh Huber is a leading business executive with 20-plus years’ experience in global Fortune 500 technology companies. She is currently Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Agilent Technologies, Inc., a $7 billion life sciences, diagnostics, applied markets and electronic measurement company of 20,000 employees operating in over 100 countries.

Huber is known for her strategic approach to highly complex international issues, as well as her strength in building consensus from divergent viewpoints and devising effective solutions. She has counseled boards of directors and compensation, audit and finance, and nominating/corporate governance committees. She has an extensive track record in successful spinoffs, IPOs, major transformative transactions, corporate governance, shareholder relations, IP compliance and regulatory matters. One of Huber’s particular strengths is applying business strategies that enable growth in emerging markets, especially Asia, which drives 40 percent of Agilent’s revenues.

Huber has advised Agilent’s Board of Directors on five complex global divestitures and spinoffs and numerous large and smaller acquisitions over the past eight years, including the separation of the company into two independent publicly traded companies, currently under way. She has also served as the lead advisor to the board on a variety of corporate governance and shareholder relations matters, including addressing potential shareholder activist and proxy issues.

Huber leads a global team of 250 people in 12 countries. She has expanded beyond her General Counsel role by adding oversight of communications, customer contracts, government affairs, philanthropy and the management of country presidents and legal representatives in 35 countries. She recently assumed responsibility for global enterprise-wide regulatory, quality and clinical affairs with the FDA and other international regulatory agencies for in vitro diagnostics and medical devices.

Huber began her career as an M&A and corporate attorney at large New York and San Francisco law firms, later joining Hewlett-Packard Company, which spun off Agilent in 1999.

She is a sought-after speaker on a wide variety of business issues, and has addressed the National Association of Corporate Directors; the Securities and Exchange Commission; Directors Forum, an annual conference featuring top corporate governance thought leaders as speakers; and the Securities Regulation Institute, among others.

Huber graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in economics, studied at the London School of Economics, and earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.

Huber was selected for the DirectWomen 2014 Board Institute and is a recipient of an Inside Counsel 2013 Transformative Leadership Award honoring general counsel who demonstrate a commitment to advancing women to senior leadership roles in the law. She serves on the board of directors of American Leadership Forum – Silicon Valley, an organization designed to bring top business, government and non-profit leaders together over the course of a year to address complex community issues. Huber is also a past director of the San Jose Museum of Art.

She is married with two young-adult children and resides in Palo Alto, California.

Ms. Stonier is responsible for identifying MasterCard’s data strategy as an element of the company’s product and business strategy, as well as for the management of privacy and data protection compliance and regulatory engagement on a global basis. Ms. Stonier and her team of global professionals help business colleagues understand the opportunities associated with MasterCard’s information assets as well as understand the risks and relevant legal requirements that need to be addressed related to the collection, use and disclosure of personal data.

Prior to joining MasterCard in 2008, Ms. Stonier was the chief privacy officer for American Express Company. She also held various roles of increasing responsibility at American Express, including chief operating officer, American Express Tax & Business Services; vice president, Acquisition Integration; and vice president & assistant to the chairman. Ms. Stonier has worked at Waldenbooks, Inc., PepsiCo and started her career as an auditor for PriceWaterhouse Coopers.

In addition to her work at MasterCard, Ms. Stonier is an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute where she teaches business strategy and international business, in the Design Management Master’s program.

Ms. Stonier received her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University in Queens, and her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College. She holds memberships in the Bar of the State of New York and the Bar of the State of New Jersey. Ms. Stonier has been recognized as an expert in the field of financial privacy, and was named as a fellow to The Aspen Institute’s First Mover Fellowship program. Angie Ruan is the Chief Technology Officer, Capital Access Platform at NASDAQ. An award-winning industry leader, Ms. Ruan holds four technical patents and has been instrumental in driving digital transformation across many industries, including enterprise application, e-commerce, payment, and capital markets. She most recently served as Vice President of Engineering at Chime before returning to NASDAQ where she was the Senior Vice President of Global Technology, responsible for overseeing the development of Key Market Technology Products and Corporate Platforms. Prior to joining Nasdaq, Ms. Ruan served as the Global Group Technology Vice President of consumer experiences and platform for American Express, where she was responsible for the digital transformation of American Express web and mobile technology. Before then, she was the Unit CIO for U.S. Consumer and U.S. Small Business, and was also Head of Engineering for Global PayPal Retail and Merchant product lines. Sean is counsel in the strategic risk and crisis management practice based in Washington, DC. Sean’s practice is cross-disciplinary, focusing on both high-stakes investigations in Congress and before federal agencies, as well as regulatory strategy and controversies in complex, highly regulated industries. He also consults on product design, compliance, and commercial matters, especially related to internet platform services, content moderation, machine learning artificial intelligence, and big data.

Prior to joining Freshfields, Sean was investigative counsel for the US House of Representatives. In that role, he conducted dozens of depositions of key witnesses, including members of Congress, and led inquiries as lead attorney investigating criminal allegations including corruption and fraud, conflicts of interest, campaign finance issues, and ethics violations under House rules.

Earlier in his career, Sean was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he specialized in complex litigation and white-collar defense. Dr. Helmuth Ludwig is a Professor of Practice for Strategy and Entrepreneurship at SMU’s Cox School of Business in Dallas, where he teaches MBA courses, e.g., on Technology and AI Strategy. He serves on the Boards of Directors of Hitachi Ltd and Humanetics Group. He is also a senior advisor to Bridgepoint LLC and Zscaler, Inc.

From 1990 until 2019, he worked at Siemens in different functions and regions: global CIO (until 2019), CEO of Siemens Industry Sector North America (until 2014), and President of Siemens PLM Software (until 2010). Earlier in his career, Helmuth had several international assignments at Siemens in Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
