Jan Berger

Board Member for BC Platforms, Upfront Healthcare, GNS Healthcare; CEO of Health Intelligence Partners

Jan is an author, board member and corporate CEO. Jan is unique as her experience spans the 3-sectors of healthcare both in the US and internationally. Jan spends most of her time as a board member in both public and private healthcare companies and focusing on re-establishing trust across healthcare environment. The basis for this work is her book, Re-Establishing Trust; The Missing Ingredient to Fixing Healthcare where she shares the 15 trust resets that can positively impact the healthcare system and magnify the impact of innovation. She has been recognized for this work both in the United States and Europe working with executive teams and board of directors to increase and maintain trust in order to maximize corporate success and value.

In addition to her board participation and her work on trust, she leads Health Intelligence Partners, a global consulting firm that focuses on the intersection of strategy and operations. Clients vary from large multi-national corporations to small privately held companies both within the US and Internationally. Jan’s expertise in consumer engagement has increased corporate value and improved healthcare across all stakeholders and the healthcare environment. Prior to that Jan was the Executive Vice President of CVS Health and Chief Innovation and Medical Officer.

Jan holds a Doctor of Medicine degree, a Master’s in Jurisprudence from Loyola University in Chicago, Certificate in Healthcare Business Administration from University of South Florida, Board Director Certification for Kellogg School of Management and a black belt in Six Sigma. Jan trained as a pediatrician and practiced primary care pediatrics in private, managed care and academic settings.

Deb Boyda

Board Member, Trustmark and ConceiveAbilities; Former Board Member, Paya and Wells Enterprises

Deb Boyda is an accomplished corporate board director and former CEO/President in the professional services sector, with expertise in digital business transformation, digital marketing and brand building. She currently serves on the board of Trustmark Benefits (financial services) and ConceiveAbilities (healthcare technology) She also served as board director for Wells Enterprises (consumer goods) where she chaired the Compensation and Talent Management Committee for years prior to the successful sale of the company.  Deb believes that inspiring and incentivizing people to do their best work is critical to the success of any organization, and as such prioritizes serving on the Compensation and Talent Management committees of her boards.

Deb is the Board Chair for The Chicago Network, an organization of leading women executives committed to empowering women to lead. She is also a member of NACD, Women Corporate Directors, Extraordinary Women on Boards and International Women’s Forum.

Deb is a graduate of Harvard University and holds a Master’s degree from Northwestern University. She lives in Chicago.

Anthony Mark Garcia

Senior Director, Investment Stewardship, Nuveen Responsible Investing

Anthony is a Senior Director with the Responsible Investing (RI) team at Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA. Nuveen’s Responsible Investing team supports the integration of ESG factors into the investment decision-making process and develops RI-focused products and solutions for clients seeking to pursue ESG objectives alongside their performance objectives and risk-adjusted returns. Nuveen’s RI framework establishes the firm’s overall RI philosophy and uses expertise across asset classes to create differentiated solutions for clients.

Anthony’s responsibilities include leading the stewardship process to influence companies and other members of the investor ecosystem and advocate for increased transparency and accountability to promote risk mitigation. Anthony oversees a team of sector-specialized analysts that conduct the engagement and proxy voting activities at the enterprise-level and support fund-level strategies to align company expectations with fund objectives.

Prior to joining Nuveen, Anthony worked as a policy advisor to institutional investors at Institutional Shareholder Services. His other professional experiences include a variety of financial and legal research positions.

He received a JD from Vanderbilt University and a BA in Economics from Hamilton College.

Sara Greenstein

Board Member, BorgWarner; CEO, Axel Johnson Inc.

A strategic CEO delivering outstanding value for investors in complex operating environments and challenging economic situations, Sara’s experience extends across public/private companies in multiple industries and country environments. Throughout her career, she has initiated and executed broad-based, immediate, and long-term value by leading major business transformations, creating bold vision, strategy, technology, and execution shifts which enabled historied businesses to compete and win anew. Fueled by a strong sense of purpose, she has a passionate focus on improving opportunities for employees at every level of the organization and delivering impact for all stakeholders.

Translating her vision into Board service, Sara currently serves on public, private and not for profit company boards. She is a Director for BorgWarner (NYSE: BWA), where she Chairs the Nominating/Governance committee, and sits on the Compensation Committee. In addition, Sara serves on the Board of Directors for Copeland (previously Emerson Climate Technologies) and sits on the Compensation committee. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors for Briggs & Stratton Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of gasoline engines for lawn and garden equipment (2018–2020). She served as a Trustee of the UL CCIC, China, Board of Directors (2004 – 2010), as a director on the Board of Hu- Friedy, a world leader in dental instrument manufacturing (2007 – 2012) and has been a Board Member of The Chicago Network (Chicago’s most influential women leaders) since 2020.

Etelvina Martinez

Managing Director, Alliance Advisors

Etelvina has been in the field of corporate governance since 2003 and has worked with issuers and institutional investors in the U.S. and several international markets. She began her career as an analyst at Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) advising clients on proxy voting decisions including proxy fights and other contested situations. Following this, she spent seven years at CtW Investment Group working closely with public and union pension funds to engage companies on their ESG practices. Prior to joining Alliance Advisors, she worked at ISS Corporate Solutions advising corporate clients in a variety of industries on executive compensation, governance ratings, and shareholder engagement.

Etelvina holds a B.S. in International Business and an MBA from American University in Washington, DC and a Masters in Financial Management from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. Etelvina is a SASB FSA credential holder.

Jeff Miller

Board Member, ServiceNow; Former CEO, Documentum, Inc.

Jeff Miller is President of JAMM Ventures, a business consulting company. Prior to establishing his firm, Jeff spent most of his career in operating companies. He was CEO of Documentum, Inc. (DCTM), an enterprise document management software company, from 1993 to 2001, and Chairman of the Board from 1999 to 2003, growing it from 15 employees into a publicly traded NASDAQ company with 1,200 employees and revenues over $200 million. Jeff has more than 50 years of high tech experience, in semiconductors, hardware, and software companies, having spent the early years of his career at Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel, and holding senior marketing and general management executive positions at Adaptec and Cadence Design Systems. From 2002 through 2006, Jeff was a venture partner with Redpoint Ventures, focused on mentoring CEOs of several Redpoint companies, particularly those in the enterprise and infrastructure software markets.

Jeff has served on the Board of Directors of a number of high technology companies. He currently serves on the Board of one public company, ServiceNow (SaaS for IT; NOW NYSE). Jeff also serves on three philanthropic Boards, the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation (he is a minority owner of the GS Warriors), and two connected with Santa Clara University, the Board of Trustees and the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship, where he Chairs the Advisory Board; and two private social entrepreneur Boards.

Jeff holds a Masters of Business Administration (1976) and a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (1973) from Santa Clara University.

Deb Rubin

Senior Partner, CEO & Board Services, RHR International

Deb Rubin is a senior partner and head of RHR’s CEO and Board Services offering. She specializes in board effectiveness, CEO succession, senior executive and senior team development. With more than 30 years of experience, Deb collaborates with boards and senior executives to drive impact in sectors including retail, travel, high-tech, energy, food and food service, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and mining. Deb received a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and a master’s degree and PsyD in clinical psychology from Widener University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association’s Society of Consulting Psychology, and a director on the national board of Girls Inc. She is also a frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal, Corporate Board Member, and Chief Executive.

Ravi Saligram

Retired CEO, Newell Brands; Lead Director, Church & Dwight

Ravi Saligram is a three-time public company CEO with a track record of building brands and businesses.
Most recently, he was CEO of Newell Brands, where he reduced complexity,
rejuvenated iconic brands such as Sharpie through innovations, drove a supply chain transformation and dramatically improved employee engagement. Under his leadership, Newell was named to Fortune’s Most Admired list. He retired in May 2023 after developing an internal successor. He subsequently joined MidOcean Partners, a private equity firm as an Operating Partner.

Previously, he was CEO of Ritchie Bros. where he transformed a brick-and-mortar heavy equipment live auction business to a data-driven digital leader and doubled the market cap.

Before that he served as CEO of OfficeMax where he led the Company’s merger of
equals with Office Depot, quadrupling shareholder value. He also held senior executive roles with Aramark, Intercontinental Hotels Group and SC Johnson.

Mr. Saligram has been recognized as 2018 CEO of the Year by Business Vancouver,
2021 Most Admired CEO by Atlanta Business Chronicle and 2021 Transformative CEO by the CEO Forum Group.

Mr. Saligram has served on the board of Church & Dwight for 18 years, is currently
Lead Director, and has extensive experience leading CEO succession.

John Sinkular

Partner, Pay Governance

John R. Sinkular, is a Partner in Pay Governance’s Detroit office. For over 25 years, he has assisted companies with designing their executive pay programs to achieve talent objectives and drive shareholder value. John consults with publicly-traded, privately-owned and pre-IPO companies that are based in North America, Europe and Asia most of which have operations spanning many other regions of the globe. His work includes pay strategy, peer group development, pay level benchmarking (both U.S. and international positions), annual and long-term incentive plan design, executive perquisites/retirement benefits, pay-performance analyses, Board pay and dealing with special situations.

John has worked with many Fortune 500 and Russell 3000 companies. He works with companies in a variety of industries, business stages and situations including several clients that are controlled companies including those led by family/founders. John has significant experience in helping companies effectively handle significant changes and the pay implications of transactions, including changes in ownership, asset sales, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and helping “newco” companies to be successful thereafter. He currently works with companies in a range of industries with a particular emphasis on industrials and technology.

John has published articles in national journals including Agenda, Compensation Focus, The Corporate Board, NYSE, and Workspan, and was a contributing author to Pay Governance’s books, “Executive Pay at a Turning Point” and “Balancing the Tension”. In his nearly 30 articles, he has covered current topics, including optimizing retention impact of pay program, incentive goal setting, board pay, industrial pay trends, career shares, EC during COVID, realizable pay, homogenization of pay practices and using relative metrics.

Matt Turner

President, Executive Compensation, Pearl Meyer

Matt Turner is the president of executive compensation and leads the executive and broad-based compensation consulting practices at Pearl Meyer. In his role, he oversees a team of senior compensation consultants in the execution of the firm’s growth strategy and in the development of consultants at various stages in their careers. He specializes in advising company boards and senior management on executive compensation strategy, incentive plan design, tailoring of performance measures, and the setting of shareholder-focused performance objectives.

With over 30 years’ experience, Matt has worked with public and private companies in a range of industries including insurance, manufacturing, technology, real estate, transportation, and retail. In addition to ongoing advisory services, he has also worked extensively with companies undergoing changes in ownership structure, business transformation, and other strategic events.

Susan Youngblood

Former Chief People Officer, Ascendion and Collabera; Former Global Head of HR, London Stock Exchange Group and Bank of New York Mellon

Susan is a technology CHRO who has launched, acquired, and transformed companies. At Fortune 50 and FTSE 100 companies such as IBM, BNY Mellon (BK), and London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG.L) as well as a tech startup, she enabled high growth and faster time to market by navigating teams through the human capital agenda at critical inflection points: new company launch, rapid scaling, M&A, global expansion, digital transformation, and large-scale cost reduction. Susan has managed global crises and assisted companies in mitigating extensive risks.

Susan architected the human capital strategy for the launch of the digital engineering firm Ascendion. She also led 17,000 employees at Collabera through the response to COVID-19. Before this, she collaborated with Blackstone to prepare for the $27B sale and integration of $6.5B fintech Refinitiv to LSEG. Susan also led Refinitiv’s global operations organization through a digital transformation that leveraged AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and process mining. Earlier, she remediated a global bank’s critical cybersecurity and resiliency deficiencies by implementing a skills and leadership transformation spanning 13,000 employees. At IBM she successfully managed eight global acquisitions and integrations totaling $1B EV. Susan’s strategic workforce management has consistently delivered multi-million-dollar savings, evidence of her approach to driving high ROI.
