Director Fundamentals Workshop

Corporate Board Member Network will host a virtual Director Fundamentals workshop each quarter. Participants will have the opportunity to attend one of these workshops during the duration of their program.

About the Facilitator

Mike Jeans is currently a director of AMICA Mutual Insurance Company where he serves on the compensation, nominating/governance, and investment committees and is the past chair of both the compensation and audit committees. He is the former Chair of the Board of Directors of Maine Media College + Workshops in Rockport, ME and former President of the Board of Habitat for Humanity (North Central MA). Mike previously served as President and then Chairman Emeritus of New Directions, Inc. where he founded and led New Directions’ Board Directorship Program that focused on helping senior executives join corporate boards. Mike has been honored as recipient of the Distinguished Director of the Year Award from the American College of Corporate Directors.

is a managing director at Pearl Meyer. With nearly 20 years of experience, Jane advises public and privately-held clients on executive and non-employee director compensation issues. Her work is focused on pay governance, incentive plan design, pay-for-performance alignment, compensation benchmarking, proxy analysis, and special programs for IPO and M&A transactions.

Peter Thies
 is a managing director with Pearl Meyer. Before joining Pearl Meyer, Peter was the co-founder and president of The River Group, a leadership and organization development firm. He has over 30 years of experience helping global companies implement strategic organizational changes. Present and past clients include public company CEOs and executives across numerous industries, including financial services, consumer products, healthcare, retail, industrial, professional services, telecommunications, and the nonprofit sector.
